7/4/19
45 degrees and rain all day (constant since 7pm last night). Not exactly what Steve and I were thinking for the Fourth of July. We made the best ofthe situation by spending the morning in town getting coffee and some brunch. We also purchased a tarp so that we could create some dry space at our camp site.

We made the best ofthe situation by spending the morning in town getting coffee and some brunch. We also purchased a tarp so that we could create some dry space at our camp site.
After getting the tarp set up and drying out some of our gear, we took advantage of the Banff bus that picks up right at the campground and headed back to town for dinner. Tomorrow we head north to Jasper via the Icefields Parkway. Since we didn’t get out of Banff today, we are tentatively planning stops at Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. Hopefully the weather willbe a bit more cooperative. Based on the homework we did, the weather challenges that have presented themselves on this trip have been quite unexpected. We are definitely discovering new levels of perseverance and grit...
I can easily imagine what your day was like; the cool and wet together forces digging deeper.
ReplyDeleteWill be interested to learn more about your tarp and usage.
Stay safe guys!
