No matter how you look at it, packing space on a motorcycle is limited. But I suppose you could say the same for any vehicle. I've gotten many questions recently about how I am able to carry everything I need, so here is where everything fits.
The left side case is the larger of the two and it will be holding: my heated gear, rain gear, Thermacell (and spray bug repellant), camp lighting, action camera, extra gloves, towel, tent mat, clothesline and hiking boots
The right side case holds my clothes bag, toiletries, backpack (with MacBook Air inside so we can easily post to the blog) and a roll of paper towels.
The top box has a cooler, camp kitchen items (including coffee brewing equipment), bear spray, fire starters and some cleaning/maintenance items. Under the cooler is a set of wrenches for chain adjustment on the road.
And strapped to the passenger seat: (from left to right) tent bag, Kermit camping chair and my dry bag with all my bedding (air mattress, sleeping bag and liner, pillows).
This is what all of that looks like going down the road. And there will be new stickers added to the collection...

My tank bag has a nice map sleeve on top and I have copies of road atlas pages to complement my GPS (I like to see the bigger picture). In the bag: tire plugger and CO2 inflator, charging cords and camera accessories, medical kit, wet wipes, toe heaters (just in case), earplugs, hard candy, sunglasses, eye drops, hats and neck gaiter.

3 days to go!
