Our epic journey is now in the books. After starting off at my house in Illinois, I picked up Steve in Wisconsin and we rode through Iowa, South Dakota, a corner of Wyoming, Montana, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Minnesota and finally back to Wisconsin and Illinois. Over the 18 days of the trip we saw temperatures ranging from a high of 96 to a low of 38 and had rain on more days than I care to count. We finished with 14 nights of camping, 2 nights in hotels and our last night on the floor at our friend Roz's house in DeForest, Wisconsin. Already, there are parts of the trip that seem like such a long time ago. Overall though, the feeling both Steve and I have is that we have scratched the itch once more and are ready to return to real life once again with the memories of the road and places we would like to revisit in the future.
St. Malo was our last camping stop in Canada. Although there were large areas of standing water from the previous days torrential rains, our site was dry and we were able to have a fire. The moisture in the ground was apparent in the morning when we packed up our tent rain flies which had trapped the humidity all night.

Our final night of camping was in Grand Rapids, MN and our site overlooked the Mississippi river (this is not far from the headwaters). We also enjoyed some "local" beverages that evening. Surprisingly, we woke to completely dry conditions as we packed up the tents for the last time.
Next on the docket, a deep clean for the bike!
